CULTURAL DEMOGRAPHIC RESEARCHER UNITED KINGDOM

Description:
Research Assistant to a Cultural demographer to produce a structured framework for centralizing defense demographic data, analysis, analytic reports, products, and tools for Europe, Eurasia, and the Levant regions. Conduct research projects and produce analytic studies using advanced statistical techniques. Analyze survey data and translate research results into implications for current and future Command activities, policies, and security initiatives.  Research and use new sources of information. Enter data into an existing database or create a database. Develop, produce, and disseminate population pyramids. Build briefings.    

Requirements:

· 

Bachelors Degree in Cultural Geography, Sociology, or Economic with field research and data research experience.

Current SSBI

Required 

· 

Willing to travel within the US, Europe, Eurasia, and the Levant at least 6 times for up to 2 weeks each trip.

Required 

· 

Ability to assist in identifying research goals and selecting appropriate research methods; expertise in analyzing quantitative and qualitative data; knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of planning pertaining to various regions, to include urban, metropolitan, and rural regions; expertise in survey research design and statistical sampling methodology as it pertains to demography; ability to prioritize and manage competing tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

Proficient in the use of information technology and possess IT skills to operate SIPRnet, NIPRnet, Intelink, and basic MSOffice software.

Collaborate with other analysts and work as a team.

Create a database, if necessary.

· 

Ability to work Monday through Friday in a classified environment and work to tight deadlines.

Required 

· 

Proficiency in reading and writing in one of these languages (Russian, Georgian, Turkish, Arabic, Hebrew, Serbo-Croatian, French, German, Italian) at a 3/3 DLPT level.

Desired 

· 

Familiar with existing research on European, Eurasian, and Levant populations and Census Bureau data and programs.

Desired 

· 

Expertise and competency with statistical analysis software and technology (such as SPSS).
