Job Description:
Software Quaility Engineer-SQE- Do-178 & Do-254- Aerospace
Electronic/Software Quality Engineer -Join a specialized manufacturing company serving principally aerospace and defense markets.
Join a specialized manufacturing company serving principally aerospace and defense markets. Approximately 80% of total revenues are generated from aerospace/defense markets. The remaining 20% is from the application of these technologies into industrial markets. The company’s management views the company's businesses in three segments related to its set of core competencies: Avionics & Controls, Sensors & Systems, and Advanced Materials.

These products include actuation systems, avionic computers, aircraft indicators, digital position sensors, precision gears and gear assemblies for the aerospace and medical industries.
REPORTS TO: Quality Assurance Manager SUPERVISION: None SUMMARY: Responsible for implementing the quality management system for production engineering processes. Back-up to the Quality Assurance Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES: • Set up and maintain Software Quality System. • Audit software programs during the development process. • Creation of documents and work instructions in accordance with AS9100, DO178B, and DO 254 for manufacturing and development. • Support audits with suppliers and customers. • Coordinates internal first article, incoming inspection, floor inspection, final inspection plans & records for electrical parts. • Attend and contribute to internal hardware/software design review meetings • Review hardware drawings and software documentation. • Works with other departments to complete Defective Material Reports, CAPAs, and Problem Reports. • Maintains positive working relationships with other departments. • Coordinate root cause and corrective action with manufacturing and engineering. • Coordinate acceptance test procedures that will conform to test parameters. • Back Up Quality Assurance Manager for customer, FAA, government audits and meetings. • Work with QA Manager on Failure Report and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) as required by customers.
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: Associate or Bachelor degree in Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering discipline and a minimum of two years related experience.
BASIC SKILLS • Able to communicate effectively with other personnel • Electrical manufacturing knowledge • Drawing interpretation • Familiarity with DO-178B development standard • Familiarity with DO-254 development standard DESIRED SKILLS: • Training in LEAN Manufacturing • Familiarity with AS9100 Quality System • Kanban experience • J-STD-001 Soldering Inspection experience • Mechanical manufacturing knowledge • Code writing experience • ASQ certified Software Quality Engineer
