Job Description:
ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

Join this leading North American consulting engineering firm, located in Eatontown NJ, who has seen substantial growth during the past five years and is continuing to expand. This progressive company is devoted to supporting DoD and Fortune 500 firms with its modeling & simulation, and systems engineering. The environment is dynamic, the staff invigorating, and the work challenging.

Responsibilities Of Electrical Engineer:

  • Design, simulate, and build prototype electrical/mechanical interfaces (e.g. power distribution, electronic filters, control boxes, etc.)
  • Read through electrical schematics, ICD’s, mechanical drawings, etc. in order to understand system operation and to aid in hardware integration tasks
  • Participate in test planning, system integration, and test activities
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and improve existing laboratory hardware
  • Excellent technical writing skills are essential for this position. The successful candidate must be able to create technical reports that clearly and effectively explain experimental setups and test results.

Requirements For Electrical Engineer:

  • Minimum of 4 years related experience
  • Must be able to take the lead in electrical hardware design and integration with little supervision
  • Strong foundation and hands-on experience in Analog Electronics, Signal Processing techniques, Electrical Engineering concepts, and advanced math
  • Must be able to read/understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Must have advance skills using the following software tools: Microsoft Office, Visio, and schematic capture/electrical simulation software experience (e.g. PSPICE)
  • Experience with Matlab in creating plots, performing data reduction, and editing existing m-files to support test activities.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfortable with the use of standard laboratory equipment (e.g. oscilloscope, multi-meters, power supplies, soldering irons, power tools, etc.)


Desired:

Knowledge of missile systems and aircraft survivability equipment (ASE) are a significant plus

  • Basic free-space optics knowledge
  • Mechanical drafting and design skills are helpful but not required.
  • Exposure to data acquisition techniques and motion control systems


Education:

  • BS/MS in Electrical Engineering.
  • Equivalent industrial or military experience may be considered in lieu of a formal degree.

Candidate must be eligible for a Top Secret DoD Security Clearance (US Citizenship Required) - which must be applied for and granted as a condition of continued employment.
