Job Description:
Senior Cost Analyst
Join an established company who is spearheading innovative technology in the state of the art treatment against cancer with proven results. This publically traded operation is world renown and a global leader in radiation therapy and is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst for their headquarters. The main responsibility of the Senior Cost Analyst is to oversee the cost and inventory accounting system, including establishing standard cost of goods sold and inventory management. This position works very closely with materials management and other members of the manufacturing and service groups.
Essential duties and responsibilities: *Manage all cost accounting activities including maintaining the cost accounting systems. *Establish and maintain appropriate standard cost of goods sold; perform and analyze annual cost roll. *Assist in annual budget process and quarterly forecasting. *Perform monthly gross margin analysis, manufacturing variance analysis and reporting of other manufacturing metrics. *Analyze variances and determine capitalization of variances as appropriate on quarterly basis. *Reconcile general ledger inventory account balances and complete inventory valuation reports. *Responsible for inventory accuracy; ensure cycle count procedures are adequate and properly executed including verification of cycle counts for both manufacturing and service. *Warranty accrual and inventory obsolescence reserve. *Works directly with internal and external auditors on all inventory and cost of goods sold matters; ensures compliance with SOX. *Works with IT to initiate process and reporting improvements to streamline analysis and closing process. *Assists with other projects as required.
Required Qualifications: *BA in Accounting or Finance with 5-7 years cost accounting experience in an equipment manufacturing environment. *Experience with service inventories strongly preferred. *Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office suite; ERP system experience required (SAP knowledge is preferred). *Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills; ability to be a self-starter *Good interpersonal skills with an ability to work in a team environment as well as independently. *Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
