Our client is a US based $834 million multinational manufacturer and marketer of technology-driven integrated solutions to protect people and assets and to facilitate the merchandising, tracking and securing of consumer goods at key checkpoints in the supply chain. Established in 1969, today they are the world’s leading provider of loss prevention systems to the $1 trillion global retail industry.
This position will perform detailed review, analysis and recommendations for improvement of new product and added capacity projects prior to and during all phases of the project under the direction of the manufacturing engineering manager. The position will be responsible for detailed tracking, review, analysis, problem solving and improvement of new product and added capacity projects from acceptance of the project by the new product development (NPD) team through sign off of the project to the manufacturing team under the direction of the manufacturing engineering manager. The objective of which is to improve the project timeline performance, reduce debug time, improve pre-launch design analysis, allow the NPD team to fully support the product build, adjustment, and sign off phases of all projects.
Responsibilities include:
· Detailed project engineering review for cost, manufacturability, reliability, improvement, real world application, and recommendations
· Detailed reviews of project samples, assemblies, and specifications for dimensional accuracy, reliability, manufacturability, project intent, and recommendations for correction and improvements
· Implement recommendations for projects as required
· Accurately track and communicate project details and status
· Drive project time frame and requirements to meet project goals and standards
· Ensure that both vendors and the Co. have supplied accurate and timely information as required
· Adept at creating, updating, changing, and communicating Pro Engineer Wildfire.3 files as needed
· Ensure exiting as well as new products are continually updated and accurately represented in the CAD database
· Proficient at coordinating multiple projects, priorities, and resources simultaneously in a compressed time frame manufacturing environment
· Plastic and electro-mechanical design knowledge
· Capable of international travel as required (25%)
· Ability to perform in a cross functional team involving team members from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Knowledge/Education:
1. Apply proper principles of Drawing, Dimensioning, Tolerancing.
2. Understand and apply current techniques for design of plastic parts for injection molding and manufacturing assembly.
3. Thoroughly familiar with and experienced in processes used to produce parts and assemble products.
4. Tollgate product development process experience
5. BSME or BSEE required.
6. 5 yrs post-graduate engineering experience or equivalent experience is required.
7. Pro Engineer preferred.
