Broad Function and Objective
Responsible for reviewing, controlling and directing the accounting, continuous improvement initiatives, product return credits, costing, budgeting and financial reporting functions for the nine assigned plants throughout the Western US. Also provides Regional and Corporate management with all necessary financial information, reports and analyses for the proper review and control of plant operation in accordance with Company objectives.
Principal Accountabilities
Functional and relationship responsibilities listed in order of importance (highest to lowest), Full responsibility (FR), shared responsibility (SR) or acts in an advisory capacity (AC) to others.
1. Organizes and develops the accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting functions for the assigned plants. Drive teamwork direction working with Operations, Sales and Headquarters. (FR)
2. Responsible for the recruitment, training, guidance and evaluation of Area Controllers, Staff Accountants, Accounting Coordinators and other Accounting Personnel in conjunction with the Plant Managers, and communication of progress to Regional Vice Presidents and VP Finance Domestic. (FR)
3. Drive Continuous improvement culture change with plant operations. (FR)
4. Responsible for the program of attaining the highest level of technical proficiency, quality, accuracy and timeliness of the accounting, costing, timely credit issuance related to product returns, control of locker stock dealer inventory programs, solving price key errors, budgeting and financial reporting functions. (FR)
5. Responsible for coordinating and directing the budgeting function including profit planning, capital forecasting, analyzing variances, action plans to drive positive cash flow to reduce debt levels and recommending appropriate corrective action. Coordinate sales/product mix link of cost to sales with Director Sales/Marketing/Dealer Services to drive margin improvements. (SR)
6. Responsible for reviewing, controlling and directing the assigned plants physical inventories and their accurate valuation. (FR)
7. Responsible for reviewing, controlling and directing the cost accounting function, analyzing variances and recommending appropriate corrective action. (FR)
8. Responsible for reviewing and interpreting all of the assigned plant's financial reports and information for management and supervises the preparation of financial statements. (FR)
9. Directs resolution of dealer deductions pertaining to credit and collection direction, including the monitoring of accounts receivable status, and recommending appropriate action on past-due accounts related to product returns, locker stock dealer inventory and price key errors. (FR)
10. Provides assistance to and coordination with the other Regional Vice Presidents, including analytical reviews, information reports, and related information. Provide assistance to the Director Sales/Marketing/Dealer Services to assure compliance to terms and conditions of transaction control by dealer account. (SR)
11. Develops recommendations for improved financial, accounting, and control policies, procedures and reports for approval by the Vice President Finance Domestic. Responsible for the application of approved policies, procedures and reports. (FR)
12. Maintains fiduciary responsibilities (in dotted line role) with VP Finance Domestic. (SR)
13. Assists in the accurate and timely preparation of the quarterly and year-end financial packages and annual audit. (FR)
14. Assist the Corporate and Regional VP/Domestic Operations, VP Domestic and CFO as requested. (SR)
15. Assist in the proper safeguarding of plant assets, specifically plant fixed assets and inventories.
16. Participate in the pricing approval process. Providing assistance to the Director Finance Sales/ Marketing/Dealer Services to assure optimal pricing and dealer subsidies on a dealer by dealer basis.
17. Directs, leads and assists with Corporate projects as assigned by Corporate Management.

Minimum Qualifications Required For This Position
Education: BS in business Administration, MBA and/or CPA preferred
Experience: 8 years related accounting, finance and management experience in a manufacturing environment with revenues of at least $100 million annually or more required. Travel requiremnts to the 9 manufacturing plants in the Western Region are expected to surpass 60%. SOX (Sarbanes Oxley), multi-plant, union experience is preferred.
